Happy Thanksgiving!

When we reflect on the true meaning of Thanksgiving, it brings to mind all of the blessings and comfort that we enjoy and how grateful we are to receive them. Sadly, a great number of people in our community have really been feeling the effects of the economy and other factors which make it difficult to get by. Thankfully however, for the majority of us, it could be worse. So in this vein, let's once again think about the members in our community to whom we may provide some assistance.

On Monday, November 23, 2009, The Alumni Association will once again, pack and deliver food baskets to members in our community. Our efforts were well received and greatly appreciated last year and we had a great time with this labor of love. The distribution site will be Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church located on Merritt Mill Road. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 we will deliver from Hargraves Center, hot meals consisting of turkey and all of the trimmings. We are asking that each class donate $100.00 to this noble cause. If your class has not done so already, please contact Jim Merritt to deliver your donation and see how else you may help. We are trying to have lots of volunteers once again this year to assist in our efforts. Trust me — you will get a really nice, giddy feeling and have lots of fun!! On behalf of The O.C.T.S - Lincoln High School Northside Alumni Association, we thank you for remembering the less fortunate on this special day and wish that you and your family always have much for which to be thankful!
